Ready to join the After Party?
The Like To Find After Party
The Like to Find After Party is our online space to connect you to the people you met at a Solo Connects event.
The After Party is one of the things that makes Like To Find different.
It's perfect if you've been to the event, met people, had conversations and perhaps spotted someone you didn't get a chance to speak to, and then everyone goes home.
The After Party gives you another opportunity to connect.
It's an online space linked to a specific Solo Connects event where you can see people connected with that event and continue exploring potential connections after the evening has finished.
🎉 What is the After Party?
Each Solo Connects event has its own After Party - a digital event space.
This means you might have:
Bedford After Party
Milton Keynes After Party
Berkhamsted After Party
and so on, each After Party exists for just 72 hours after the event, and then it disappears forever!
If you've attended more than one event, you'll be able to join each After Party, as they are all considered separate from each other.
🔗 How do I join?
If you're a Guest
Guests can join the relevant After Party using the event-specific link provided by Solo Connects.
You may receive the link:
In an email on the morning of the event
Via the QR code available at the event
Follow the link and choose:
Join After Party
Once you've joined, you're part of that event's After Party.
Important
Simply having a Like To Find account doesn't make you an attendee of an After Party.
You need to actually join that specific After Party.
👥 If I'm a Member
Members have a little more flexibility.
Members can browse and join relevant open After Parties, subject to the existing access and age requirements.
This means you may be able to see an After Party for an event that you didn't attend.
That's intentional.
The After Party is part of the wider Like To Find community, not just a digital attendance list.
🔞 Why can't I see every After Party?
After Parties have age and access restrictions.
You will only be able to access After Parties that you're eligible for.
For example, if an After Party is intended for people aged 25 - 45 and your age is 48, you won't be able to access that After Party.
These restrictions are there to help keep the community appropriate and comfortable for everyone.
👀 Why are there two sections?
This is important.
When you enter an After Party, you'll see two separate groups of people.
Event Attendees
These are the people who actually joined that specific event's After Party.
They can be:
Guests
Members
The important thing isn't whether they're a Guest or Member.
It's whether they actually joined that particular After Party.
For example
If Sarah attended the Milton Keynes event and joined the Milton Keynes After Party, she'll appear under:
Event Attendees
👤 Like To Find Members
You'll also see a second group:
Like To Find Members
These are Members who are eligible to browse that After Party but didn't actually join that specific After Party as an attendee.
They might not have attended the event at all.
They may simply be exploring the After Party because they're a Like To Find Member.
This is why you might see somebody in the After Party who you don't remember seeing at the event.
It doesn't mean they were there.
They are simply a Member who is allowed to browse the After Party.
Why show Members who weren't at the event?
Because Like To Find isn't only about the people who happen to be at one particular event.
It's about creating a wider community of genuine single people.
A Member might not have been able to attend an event because:
They were working
They were away
They had another commitment
The event was sold out
They simply weren't ready to come along
But they might still be interested in meeting someone who did attend.
Allowing Members to browse relevant After Parties creates more opportunities for people to find each other.
It also means Guests can see the value of becoming a Member.
🔍 Can I look at someone's profile?
Yes.
You'll see a:
View Full Profile
button beneath profiles in the After Party.
Select this to see the person's full Like To Find profile, subject to the normal profile visibility and permissions that apply to you.
You can therefore get a better sense of who someone is before deciding whether you'd like to connect.
💌 Can I send a Flirt Card?
Where you're permitted to do so, you can use a Flirt Card to let someone know that you'd like to connect.
A Flirt Card is a respectful way of saying:
"I'd like to get to know you."
You can include a short message explaining why you've noticed them.
For example:
"We had a quick chat about live music at the event and I wish we'd had longer to talk."
That's much more personal than simply saying "Hi".
You need to write 50 characters minimum as well, so a "Hey" message simply won't cut it.
👤 What if I'm a Guest?
Guests can browse the people available to them in the After Party and send Flirt Cards to people in the After Party room, but they can't ssend Flirt Cards to anybody else in the Like To Find app.
If you'd like to send a Flirt Card, you'll need to upgrade to Membership.
This means you can experience the community and see who is around before deciding whether Membership is right for you.
🏷️ What does Member or Guest mean?
Every profile should show whether the person is a:
Member
or
Guest
This is separate from whether they attended the event.
For example:
Event Attendees
Sarah — Member
Jane — Guest
David — Member
All three actually joined the After Party.
Or:
Like To Find Members
Tom — Member
Rachel — Member
Neither of them attended that particular event, but both are eligible Members browsing the After Party.
🗓️ What if I attend more than one event?
That's absolutely fine.
Each After Party is separate.
For example:
You attend the Bedford event and join its After Party.
You later attend the Milton Keynes event and join that After Party too.
You can be an Event Attendee in both.
But if you didn't attend another event, you won't automatically become an Event Attendee in that event's After Party.
Attendance doesn't carry across events.
You need to actually join each specific After Party.
👀 Does looking at an After Party mean I've joined it?
No.
There is an important difference between:
Accessing/browsing an After Party
and:
Joining an After Party.
A Member may be able to browse an After Party without having attended the event.
They should therefore appear under:
Like To Find Members
rather than:
Event Attendees
❤️ What should I do if I recognise someone?
If you've seen someone at the event who you'd like to get to know better, the After Party gives you another opportunity to do something about it.
You can:
Find their profile.
Select View Full Profile.
Read what they've said about themselves.
Decide whether you'd like to connect.
If you're permitted to, send them a Flirt Card.
The whole point is to give you another opportunity to make a connection that might not have happened on the night.
🙋 What if I didn't speak to someone at the event?
That's one of the reasons the After Party exists.
Perhaps you noticed someone across the room.
Perhaps you were talking to somebody else.
Perhaps you were too nervous to go over.
Perhaps you simply didn't get the opportunity.
The After Party gives you another way to find them.
You can read their profile and decide whether you'd like to make the first move.
💬 What if someone sends me a Flirt Card after the event?
You'll be notified through the Like To Find app (you'll see a notification number on the menu) and will also receive an email.
Go to Flirt Cards to see what they've sent.
You can then decide whether you'd like to:
Accept
Decline
If you decline, you can either use the standard polite response or write your own.
You never have to accept a connection simply because someone has expressed an interest.
🛡️ Please keep the After Party respectful
The After Party is an extension of a real-life event.
That means the same basic rules of respect apply online as they do in person.
Please:
Be friendly.
Be respectful.
Respect a no.
Don't repeatedly send Flirt Cards.
Don't pressure someone to respond.
Don't ask people for additional photographs.
Respect someone's preferred way of communicating.
Don't make assumptions about someone based on their profile.
Remember that there is a real person behind every profile.
A Flirt Card is an invitation to connect.
It's not an entitlement to a response.
📷 Why can't I ask someone for more photographs?
Like To Find deliberately uses one photograph per profile.
We don't want people feeling that they need to provide a collection of photographs before someone will be interested in them.
If someone has chosen one photograph, please respect that choice.
Asking someone to send you more photographs may make them uncomfortable or cause offence.
Get to know them instead.
📍 Meet in Person
The After Party is there to help you make connections.
Ultimately, we'd encourage you to take those connections into the real world.
If you've connected with someone and would like to meet them, you could:
Meet for a coffee
Arrange a walk
Meet somewhere public
Come along to another Solo Connects event together
If meeting someone for the first time feels daunting, a Solo Connects event can provide a comfortable environment because you're meeting as part of a wider group.
🔐 A note about Privacy
The After Party is designed to help people connect without giving away unnecessary personal information.
Your profile only contains the information you've chosen to share.
We don't publish your precise address.
And we don't collect your date of birth simply to provide age-related functionality.
Some information is also restricted depending on whether you're a Guest or Member.
These boundaries are deliberate.
❓ Something Doesn't Look Right?
If you think someone has been placed in the wrong section, or something about your After Party access doesn't look right, please contact the Like To Find team or report a profile and the team will take a look at it.
Remember:
Event Attendees = people who actually joined that specific event's After Party.
Like To Find Members = Members who are eligible to browse that After Party but didn't join it as an attendee.
That distinction is there to make the After Party clearer and prevent confusion about who actually attended the event.
❤️ The After Party in a nutshell
The event might finish when everyone goes home.
The opportunity to connect doesn't have to.
The After Party gives you another chance to find someone you noticed, discover someone you didn't meet, or simply see who else is part of the wider Like To Find community.
Take a look.
Read the profiles.
Be curious.
Make a connection if you want to.
And remember: the best connections are the ones where both people want to see where it goes.
